AO Trauma NA Symposium - South East Orthopaedic Symposium

This activity takes place over 3.5 days and is designed to provide the orthopedic surgeon with a comprehensive update on the latest state-of-the-art techniques in the management of orthopedic trauma, sports medicine, and biologics to include adult reconstruction, arthroplasty: knee, economics of joint replacement surgery, hip replacement, biologics update, shoulder/elbow and orthopaedic trauma issues among others to provide optimal patient care. A distinguished faculty will present their experience, techniques, and pearls of wisdom regarding current treatments and procedures. The goal of the activity is to provide an update to practicing surgeons along with topics of interest to their practice and the challenges they face.

2024 Orthopaedic Trauma: Fracture Problems in the Real World - New Solutions to Old Problems

The 2024 Orthopaedic Trauma Symposium will present a review of new techniques to address common fractures encountered in practice. Didactic sessions focused on new and emerging concepts will be presented by expert faculty. Additionally, skills labs to make the concepts discussed more granular will be offered.


Objectives
Share experience and approaches to challenging cases with colleagues and expert faculty to enhance understanding of recommended treatment and management strategies.
Recognize the challenges posed by bone loss, infections, non-unions, and other issues and take steps to mitigate complications and adverse outcomes.
Identify unique and difficult fracture patterns and problems in the orthopaedic trauma patient and utilize the best treatment options and algorithms for these difficult cases.
Apply performance improvement tips to improve interactions that can result in enhanced patient and provider outcomes and experiences.
Incorporate an interprofessional team-based approach in the management of common and complex fractures.

2024 Trauma Conference

This conference is for physicians, nurses, EMS and ancillary staff who care for the traumatically injured patient covers current evidence-based practice in the care of specific trauma mechanisms of injury (MOI) and innovative technology that are most commonly seen at OhioHealth’s three American College of Surgeons accredited trauma centers. These MOIs include falls, motor vehicle crashes and assaults for both Grant Medical Center and Riverside Methodist Hospital, and falls, motor vehicle crashes and motorcycle crashes for Mansfield Hospital.

10th Annual Spine Trauma Summit 2024

The 10th Annual Spine Trauma Summit provides an update on the current evidence-based practices in spine trauma care. The meeting combines lectures with interactive sessions to address questions and develop a consensus on best practices for all key areas of spinal cord injuries. It also includes live surgical demonstrations and a hands-on BioSkills session for in-person learners.

This conference will enhance recognition of key injury variables and provide important updates on spinal cord injury management and the latest techniques in minimally invasive spine fracture treatment. Hands-on training for participants will include the most advanced technologies available to improve cognitive as well as haptic skill sets.
