Product Overview
Ideal for a wide range of approximation and ligation uses
Microsuture is a nylon monofilament nonabsorbable, sterile surgical suture that is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in microsurgical, cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
• Microsuture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in microsurgical, cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
ACTIONS
• GEM Microsuture elicits a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue.
TENSILE STRENGTH
• As with any nylon suture, though not absorbed, progressive hydrolysis of the suture in vivo may result in gradual loss of tensile strength over time. Nylon suture should not be used where permanent retention of tensile strength is required.
STERILIZATION
• Ethylene oxide.
